Professor Aina will succeed Professor Is-haq Oloyede, whose second tenure as JAMB Registrar is scheduled to conclude on July 31, 2026.
The incoming registrar is a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University and is widely recognized for his contributions to digital infrastructure, national examination systems, and institutional transformation. According to information released by the Presidency, Aina combines academic excellence with practical experience in public-sector technology and examination administration.
Professor Aina earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems Engineering from University of Kent and later obtained both an MSc in Internet Computing and Network Security and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University. He also completed executive leadership training through the Senior Management Programme at career-in-estate-management/">Lagos Business School.
Beyond academia, Aina brings more than 15 years of experience working across technology, education systems, and institutional reform. He has advised government institutions on digital transformation initiatives and has served as a consultant to examination agencies including National Examinations Council and National Business and Technical Examinations Board, supporting projects related to ICT systems, examination integrity, and process modernization.
The Presidency further described him as one of Nigeria’s youngest professors in Computer Engineering and noted that his appointment positions him to become the youngest Registrar in JAMB’s history.
With the transition expected after July 2026, stakeholders across Nigeria’s education sector will be watching closely to see how the new leadership shapes JAMB’s next phase, particularly in areas such as digital examination systems, operational efficiency, and institutional development.
