Israel Adeniyi Adekunle has emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student at the 2026 Nigerian Law School Call to Bar, finishing at the top of 6,009 successful candidates and earning an impressive 12 academic prizes for his exceptional performance.

Adeniyi’s outstanding achievement has been widely celebrated within the legal and education-for-vulnerable-children/">academic communities, with many describing it as a remarkable testament to hard work, discipline, and academic excellence.
Before attending the Nigerian Law School, Adeniyi graduated as the overall best student in the Common Law programme at the University of Ilorin, where he recorded a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.83, the highest ever achieved in the institution’s Faculty of Law.
At the 2026 Call to Bar ceremony in Abuja, he distinguished himself by claiming the highest overall honours, receiving 12 academic awards in recognition of his exceptional performance across the Bar Final examinations.
His success has attracted commendations from career-counselor/">legal practitioners, academics, and alumni, who described his achievement as an inspiration to aspiring lawyers across Nigeria.
Following the ceremony, former Senate President Bukola Saraki hosted Adeniyi in recognition of his outstanding academic feat and presented him with a cash award to celebrate his achievement.
