The outstanding achievement places Gomez among the highest-performing graduates in this year’s Bar Part II examinations, where thousands of aspiring lawyers successfully completed the mandatory professional training required for admission to the Nigerian Bar

A graduate of the University of Lagos, Gomez distinguished herself through exceptional academic performance, discipline, and consistency throughout her legal education. Before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School, she graduated among the top five per cent of students in her undergraduate class, laying the foundation for her remarkable success at the Bar. 

She shared the Joint Female Best Graduating Student honour with Chiamaka Happiness Modestus of Igbinedion University, while both graduates also emerged as Joint Second Overall in the 2026 Bar examinations. 

The awards were presented during the 2026 Call to Bar ceremonies held at the Body of Benchers Complex in Abuja, where outstanding graduates across various academic categories were recognised for excellence. The event celebrated exceptional achievements in the Bar Part II examinations, alongside the formal admission of newly qualified lawyers into the legal profession. 

Gomez’s achievement has attracted widespread commendation from the legal community and education stakeholders, who described her success as an inspiration to young Nigerians, particularly female law students aspiring to excel in the profession. Her accomplishment also reinforces the growing impact of women in legal education and the country’s justice sector. 

Her recognition comes alongside that of Israel Adekunle Adeniyi, who emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student, highlighting the high standard of academic excellence demonstrated by the 2026 graduating class of the Nigerian Law School.
