Allahumma zidni ‘ilma, warzuqni fahma.

(O Allah, increase me in knowledge and grant me understanding.)

Technology means using scientific knowledge to make life easier. It includes devices like phones, televisions, tablets and computers.

We use technology daily for communication, learning and entertainment. As Muslims, it can also help us improve our Deen.

Prayer reminder apps help us remember our daily Salah by notifying us of the correct times for Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers at fixed times.” (Surah An-Nisa 4:103)

We can also use technology to read and listen to the Qur’an, Hadith and Islamic lectures. These resources help us learn more about Ramadan, Zakat and Hajj. Allah also says:

“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.” (Surah Taha 20:114)

However, technology must be used wisely. While it is helpful, it can also waste time or expose us to harmful content if not properly guided.

In conclusion, technology is a powerful tool that can strengthen our faith when used correctly.

Technology is the use of scientific knowledge to solve problems and make life easier.

It can improve our Deen through Islamic e-books available on phones and tablets. These books come in different languages and help us learn about Islam, scholars, and good character such as honesty, kindness and justice.

Islamic cartoons and videos online also help children learn, but they must be properly guided to avoid harmful content. Useful programmes like Prophet Stories, Omar and Hana, and Zaky and Friends teach good Islamic values.

We can also learn from online Islamic lectures shared by scholars across the world. These lectures are often recorded or streamed live.

In addition, apps and platforms like Zoom, Telegram and Google Meet allow us to attend Islamic classes from home, learning subjects such as Tafsir, Fiqh, Hadith and Arabic.

When used correctly, technology strengthens our Deen and helps us grow in knowledge and faith.

Technology has greatly improved how Muslims practise their Deen.

We can now attend online Qur’an and Islamiyyah classes, learning from teachers around the world from the comfort of our homes. It also helps with memorisation when we revise with friends online.

We can listen to daily Azkar, including morning and evening supplications, even while going to school. Islamic YouTube channels also teach us about the Prophets and Islamic history.

Technology has also helped in producing more copies of the Qur’an and Islamic books, as well as creating beautiful Islamic designs for mosques and homes.

Islamic apps help us read the Qur’an, listen to the Adhan, check prayer times and find the Qiblah.

It has also made charity easier through online platforms, allowing people to support those in need anywhere in the world.

However, we must be careful to use technology only for good so it does not negatively affect our faith.

Technology helps make life easier and also supports my Deen.

I use my phone and tablet to listen to the Qur’an and set reminders for my five daily prayers. This helps me stay consistent even without being reminded by others.

It also helps me learn how to behave like a good Muslim, including what to say before eating, entering the bathroom, or going to school. I can quickly search for anything I do not understand.

Technology teaches me how to help my parents, respect elders, and behave properly. It also helps me learn more about Islam anytime and anywhere.

Overall, technology has made me a better Muslim because it helps me learn and practise my Deen every day.
