No fewer than 860 students from Delta North have qualified for the 2026 Monday Onyeme Foundation Scholarship Scheme, in an education intervention expected to commit more than N170 million to beneficiaries.

The successful students emerged from the three federal constituencies that make up Delta North Senatorial District, namely Aniocha and Oshimili, Ika and Ndokwa and Ukwuani.
The final stage of the qualifying exercise was held at Utagba Ogbe Technical College in Kwale, where 340 students from Ndokwa and Ukwuani Federal Constituency emerged successful from 863 candidates who sat for the test.
Earlier, 212 candidates had qualified in Ika Federal Constituency, while 301 were successful in Aniocha and Oshimili Federal Constituency.
Under the 2026 scholarship arrangement, every successful candidate will receive N200,000.
Additional rewards have also been set aside for the strongest performers, with N400,000, N350,000 and N300,000 allocated to first, second and third place winners respectively in the constituency exercises.
Agenu Miracle from Ukwuani emerged as the top performer in the latest examination after scoring 51 marks. Agenu Junior and Enemuwe Chioma jointly occupied second position, while Enemuwe Ososam and Idowu Feyisayo placed third with 50 marks each.
The scheme is sponsored by Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, and is designed to support students pursuing higher education.
The initiative comes at a time when rising educational costs are placing considerable pressure on families.
Beyond the financial assistance, the organisers say the aptitude test is also intended to encourage students to take their studies seriously.
For the hundreds of beneficiaries, the scholarship could provide much needed financial relief while helping them remain focused on completing their education.
