The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The results, which were released on Friday night, are for candidates who wrote the exam on Thursday, April 16.
JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin, shared the update on his X (formerly Twitter) page, saying that about 632,788 candidates can now check their results.

To check your result, simply send UTMERESULT as a text message to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number you used during registration.

For now, candidates can only view their scores. Printing of results will be available later.

JAMB also warned candidates not to tamper with or edit the SMS results to make their scores look higher. According to the board, this is a serious offence.

The board revealed that two candidates and one parent have already been arrested for trying to manipulate UTME results using artificial intelligence and other electronic methods.

JAMB stressed that anyone caught doing this will face legal consequences.

The examination is still ongoing, and more results will be released in batches as they become available
