Our hands may look clean, but they can still carry harmful germs. Every day, we touch phones, door handles, desks, money, and many other surfaces where germs may be present.

Washing our hands is one of the simplest ways to protect ourselves and others from illness.
Germs can spread when we touch contaminated surfaces and then touch our eyes, nose, mouth, or food. This can lead to illnesses such as diarrhoea and other infections.
As teenagers, we can protect ourselves by washing our hands with soap and clean, running water before eating, after using the toilet, after coughing or sneezing, and whenever our hands are visibly dirty.
When washing your hands, scrub for at least 20 seconds. Remember to clean between your fingers and under your nails before rinsing thoroughly.
Handwashing is not just a personal responsibility; it is also a way of protecting the people around us. Clean hands can help prevent the spread of germs at home, in school, and in other public places.
Make handwashing a daily habit, not an option. Clean hands help keep us healthy!
