The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has fixed September 10, 2026, as the deadline for registration for its November and December certificate examinations.

The deadline applies to candidates preparing for the National Business Certificate, National Technical Certificate, Advanced National Business Certificate and Advanced National Technical Certificate examinations.
Registration for the examinations began on August 10, giving candidates a limited window to complete the process before the deadline.
However, NABTEB announced a separate deadline for candidates registering for the December Modular Trades Certificate Examination.
Registration for that examination will remain open until September 30, 2026.
The board has urged prospective candidates, schools, technical and vocational institutions and apprenticeship centres to complete registration within the approved periods.
The registration fee for the NBC and NTC examinations is N22,500, while candidates for the ANBC and ANTC examinations are required to pay N25,500.
Candidates registering for the December Modular Trades Certificate Examination are required to pay N6,000.
NABTEB also warned candidates and other stakeholders to obtain registration information through authorised channels.
The advice is aimed at reducing errors, delays and complications that could arise from relying on incorrect information.
The examinations are important to Nigeria’s technical and vocational education system because they provide competency-based assessment and certification in business and technical fields.
At a time when the country is seeking to expand opportunities for young people beyond conventional academic pathways, technical qualifications are becoming increasingly important.
Skills in areas such as engineering trades, business services and vocational occupations can provide alternative routes into employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
NABTEB said its examination system forms part of efforts to support skilled manpower development and strengthen technical and vocational education.
The board has also been reviewing its programmes and examination processes as part of efforts to make technical education more responsive to changing workplace demands.
For prospective candidates, the immediate priority is to complete registration before the relevant deadline.
Missing the registration window could mean waiting for another examination cycle.
With September 10 approaching, NABTEB’s message is therefore one of urgency: candidates intending to sit for the November and December certificate examinations should complete their registration without waiting until the final days.
