When the school bell rings, safety must answer too

Recent reports of attacks and security breaches affecting schools in parts of Nigeria have understandably raised concerns among parents and educators. While schools are centres of learning, growth and discovery, they must also remain places where children feel safe, secure and protected.

At Lagooz Schools, the safety and well-being of every learner remains a top priority. Beyond academic excellence, the school is committed to maintaining a secure learning environment through controlled access procedures, vigilant security personnel, regular monitoring, and a strong culture of alertness among staff and students.

However, effective school security requires partnership. Parents also have an important role to play. Adhering to school security protocols, keeping emergency contact information updated, promptly reporting concerns, and teaching children basic safety awareness all contribute to a safer school community.

Amid the security challenges facing the nation, protecting children requires collective vigilance, shared responsibility and proactive action. While every risk cannot be completely eliminated, collaboration can help create an environment where children can learn, dream and thrive with confidence.

At Lagooz Schools, every child matters, and every precaution counts.
