A NEW BEGINNING AT GGSS DUTSE

My name is Princess Raphael. I was a quiet, innocent, and friendly girl who loved peace and always stayed away from trouble. I wasn’t the type who talked too much, especially around people I didn’t know.

One day, my life took a new turn when I gained admission to Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, popularly known as GGSS Dutse.

I had heard different stories about boarding school. Some people said it was fun, while others described it as stressful. I was excited about meeting new people, but at the same time, I was nervous about leaving home.

Finally, the day I had been waiting for arrived. It was time for me to resume at my new school.

My parents helped me arrange my belongings and prepare for the journey. Before I left, they called me aside to give me some important advice.

“My daughter, we want you to behave yourself and take your studies seriously,” my mother said gently.

My father looked at me and added, “Princess, always remember why you are going to school. You will meet different kinds of people, but don’t allow anyone to lead you into trouble. Respect your teachers, choose your friends wisely and, most importantly, never forget where you are coming from.”

I nodded and replied, “I won’t forget, Daddy.”

My mother hugged me tightly and said, “Always remember the values we have taught you. We love you, and we want the best for you.”

These words stayed in my mind as I said goodbye to my parents. I quietly looked around, wondering what my new experience would be like.

When I entered the hostel, I saw girls arranging their beds and belongings. Some were laughing and chatting, while others were busy settling into their new environment.

I found my space and started arranging my belongings. Although I was happy to be there, I was already beginning to miss home.

I knew I had to adjust to my new environment, make good friends, and concentrate on my education.

I didn’t know what awaited me, but I was ready to begin this new chapter of my life.

Little did I know that GGSS Dutse would become a place filled with unforgettable memories, unexpected friendships, valuable lessons, and experiences that would change me forever.
