The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home, eliminating the need to visit a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre for the process.

The development was announced by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, who said the Board can now verify candidates’ results directly with the examination bodies that issued them, beginning with the education-group-gives-waec-14-days-to-address-result-concerns-or-face-court-action/">West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
How the new system works
Under the arrangement, candidates first verify their O’Level results and obtain a Verification Code. The code is then used to complete the upload through JAMB’s system.
Candidates are required to:
- Visit the designated O’Level result verification platform.
- Enter their NIN and verify their identity.
- Select the number of examination sittings and the relevant examination body.
- Provide their email address and GSM number.
- Complete the required payment.
- Enter their examination number, examination series and examination year.
- Verify the result and obtain the Verification Code.
After obtaining the code, candidates can send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. JAMB will then process the result upload and notify the candidate.
Candidates with two examination sittings will subsequently be required to access their JAMB e-Facility profile, select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” and enter the Verification Code.
Their verified results will be displayed, after which they can select the relevant subjects. JAMB requires candidates to select at least five and no more than nine subjects, without selecting the same subject more than once.
Why JAMB introduced the system
According to the Board, the initiative is intended to make the O’Level upload process faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
JAMB said the new system will reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processing. It is also expected to minimise problems associated with manual uploads, including misplaced documents, fraudulent or unverified results and errors when entering subjects and grades.
The system links JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, allowing submitted results to be checked against records held by the institutions that conducted the examinations before being reflected on candidates’ profiles.
Important for admission candidates
Uploading and verifying O’Level results remains an important part of the admission process. JAMB’s official guidance states that candidates who are awaiting results should upload them to the JAMB portal once they become available.
The move is particularly significant for candidates participating in the 2026/2027 admission exercise, as institutions use candidates’ O’Level information during admission processing.
JAMB’s current Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) also shows O’Level result statistics as part of the 2026/2027 admission process, underscoring the importance of candidates ensuring that their results are correctly reflected on their profiles.
The Board said the new arrangement reflects its broader move towards technology-driven service delivery and reducing the burden on candidates during the admission process.
