A total of 301 undergraduates from the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State have secured scholarships under the 2026 Monday Onyeme Foundation Scholarship Scheme.

The beneficiaries emerged after an aptitude test conducted at Dennis Osadebay University in Asaba, with each successful student set to receive a minimum of N200,000.
The annual scholarship scheme is sponsored by Delta State Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme as part of efforts to support students from Delta North Senatorial District.
According to Onyeme, 650 undergraduates were shortlisted for the aptitude test, while 474 eventually sat for the examination. A total of 301 candidates passed.
The scholarship structure also provides additional rewards for the highest-performing candidates.
Eight successful students will be selected from each ward in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, while the overall top scorer will receive an additional N200,000.
Candidates who finish second and third will each receive an additional N150,000.
The highest-scoring candidate was Ubaka Treasure from Aniocha South Ward 4, who recorded 45 marks. Ubaka Daniel from Aniocha North and Ojenuwa Chukwueme from Oshimili South jointly placed second with 44 marks.
Treasure, a student of International Relations at Admiralty University, Ibusa, expressed gratitude to God and the foundation for the support.
For many students, financial pressure can become a major obstacle to completing higher education. Scholarships such as this can help ease some of the costs associated with university education and allow beneficiaries to concentrate more fully on their studies.
The foundation described the scheme as an effort to encourage and support undergraduates from the district.
The initiative also comes at a time when the cost of higher education continues to place pressure on students and their families.
By providing direct financial assistance, the scholarship gives successful candidates an opportunity to continue their academic journeys with some of the financial burden reduced.
For the 301 beneficiaries, the award is therefore more than a cash payment.
It represents an investment in their education and, potentially, in the future professionals and leaders who will emerge from Delta State’s higher education institutions.
