Social media has changed the way people live, interact and see the world. It is like a double-edged sword. It has good and bad sides. On one hand, social media help teenagers connect with others, share their thoughts and ideas and stay updated on what’s happening around them. However, spending too much time on social media can be bad for mental and emotional health. Cyber bullying, online harassment and the pressure to look perfect online make them feel anxious, depressed, and unsure of themselves.
To deal with these challenges, teenagers need to find balance by setting limits on their social media use and engage in activities off-line and be mindful of what they share online. With guidance and the right support, teenagers can use social media in a way that is positive and healthy to help them grow and develop as individuals.
