Pediatricians are specialised doctors who focus on the health and well-being of children from birth through adolescence. The role is crucial in making sure that children grow up healthy, both physically and mentally.
Pediatricians are trained to take care of a wide range of health issues that children may face, from common illnesses to chronic conditions.
The primary duty of a pediatrician is to monitor a child’s growth and development. They conduct regular check-ups to ensure that a child’s physical and mental development is on track. This includes measuring weight and height, and also monitoring some milestones such as children’s motor skills, speech acquisition as well as social behaviour.
Pediatricians also give vaccines to children against diseases like poliomyelitis, yellow fever, and measles, among others. They equally prescribe medications for sicknesses.
Overall, pediatricians ensure that children live healthy and happy lives by offering comprehensive medical care, preventive measures and emotional support. They guide families during challenges and also act as counsellors to children whenever they have problems concerning any health-related aspects of their lives.
Parents, make time to see pediatricians to secure your children’s health and future knowing that Health is Wealth!
