The strange visitor

By Fauziyya Umar Madawaki

Knocking on doors every day and every moment looking for friends or enemies to take them on their last journey

I am the strange visitor who is loved by friends and hated by enemies

Greet friends, hug them gently, and curse enemies

I am a comfort to the sick and a nuisance to the healthy

Look for some of them ready to meet me and others not

separate the loved ones, not because I want to, but it is my work and I relieve the world from the haters

There is no escape from me together in life and death

This is me, the strange visitor.
