The school emerged the overall winner in the Under-13 category at the three-day competition, which took place from October 16 to 18, 2026, bringing together more than 400 student-athletes from 11 schools to compete in football, swimming and athletics.

The donation formed part of Mikano Motors’ support for the competition, which aims to promote sporting excellence, teamwork and youth development by providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents.

Beyond sponsoring the bus prize, the automotive company displayed its Changan vehicles at the event, allowing students and their families to explore the models and learn about their features. Some participants also had the opportunity to experience an electric vehicle firsthand, introducing them to developments in modern automotive technology.

Mikano Motors said its participation reflected its commitment to supporting initiatives that help young people develop their potential and access opportunities beyond the classroom.

The donation is expected to provide practical benefits to The Grange School and its community, extending the impact of the competition beyond the sporting arena.

The Pan African School Games features Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 categories and seeks to combine sports with education, career development and cultural exchange. Organisers have also identified opportunities for talented young athletes to gain exposure to scouts and educational institutions, potentially opening pathways to scholarships.

The second edition attracted support from several organisations, including Mikano Motors, alongside other corporate sponsors and the Lagos State Government and Lagos State Sports Commission.

The event highlights the role of private-sector support in school sports and the development of young athletes, while encouraging values such as discipline, resilience and teamwork.
