The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes and non-technological National Diploma (ND) programmes in agriculture-related courses without requiring them to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The registration exercise follows the Federal Government’s policy exempting applicants to NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes from writing the UTME, as part of efforts to increase enrolment in teacher education and agriculture-related fields.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board explained that eligible candidates who possess the required O’Level qualifications can complete their registration at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) located in Colleges of Education or at any accredited JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide.
Benjamin noted that although applicants are no longer required to take the UTME, they must still register with JAMB to enable the Board verify their credentials and process their admissions through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), ensuring that admission standards are maintained.
He urged qualified candidates to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the registration process as simple and accessible through designated centres across the country.
The Board also announced that candidates who previously sat for the 2026 UTME but later decided to pursue NCE or non-technological agricultural programmes can convert their applications at any designated registration centre at no additional cost.
