Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board has presented certificates to five Bauchi students that represented the country at the Nigeria-Malaysia Bilateral School Debate Championship for their victory.
In a remark during the occasion held at SUBEB, the Executive Chairman of the Board Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri attributed the success to the passion Governor Bala Mohammed has to the education sector in the state.
The Chairman represented by his Permanent Secretary Alhaji Abdullahi Jibril acknowledged the allocation of over N42 million to support Bauchi State contingents who represented Nigeria at the School Debate Championship.
Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri expressed delight with the performance of the Nigerian contingents at the annual competition of Junior secondary school category which started from local, State, National to International level.
He pledged state government readiness to continue sponsoring students to participate at the national and international inter-school debate championships for the advancement of the education sector.
Alhaji Adamu Duguri also commended the efforts of the students’ parents, teachers for nurturing them to represent the nation on the global stage competition.
The Chairman assured his readiness to collaborate with the federal government and other relevant bodies towards organizing impactful activities that would improve the Standard of education in the country.
Earlier, the Director School Services Alhaji Zuhairu Usman who led the delegation for the competition commended Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership and support for education that pave the way for a brighter future for Bauchi State.
According to him, the participants won four bronzes, a trophy for best speaker, the most discipline and competence as well as dedication.
On his part, the representative of students’ parents, Malam Mustapha extended their heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Governor Bala Mohammed for his support and investment in their children to excel in life.
