Kano legislator renovates school, donates uniforms, educational materials

The Member of the House of Representatives for Kano Municipal Federal Constituency, Engr Sagir I. Koki, has commissioned the general renovation of Laure Ibrahim Government Upper and Lower Basics School and donated uniforms and educational materials to students in a significant move to enhance basic education in Kano.

The intervention, organised by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in collaboration with the Kano Municipal Local Education Authority, aims to improve learning conditions and promote access to quality education for children in the constituency.

Speaking at the commissioning event recently, Engr Koki reaffirmed his commitment to education development, emphasising the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for pupils.

“Education is the foundation of a prosperous society, and every child deserves access to quality learning facilities and materials. This initiative is part of our broader effort to uplift the education sector in Kano by improving infrastructure, enhancing student welfare, and ensuring that no child is left behind,” he stated.

He further noted that the renovation project was undertaken to create a more comfortable and secure learning atmosphere, while the provision of uniforms and educational materials is aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and encouraging school enrolment. 

The event attracted education stakeholders, government officials, teachers, parents, and students, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative.

The Executive Chairman of Kano SUBEB, speaking at the occasion, commended Engr Koki for his proactive approach to education development, noting that his interventions are directly impacting the lives of young learners in the state.

The Kano Municipal Local Education Authority also pledged its continued support for initiatives that drive improvements in the education system.

Parents and teachers at Laure Ibrahim Government Upper and Lower Basics School lauded the project, emphasising that the improved facilities and provision of learning materials will boost students’ morale and academic performance.

With this intervention, Engr Sagir Koki continues to make strides in strengthening education in Kano, reaffirming his dedication to empowering future generations through quality learning opportunities.
