It is a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. It may result in of hallucination delusion, extreme disordered thinking and behaviours that impair daily functions. People with schizophrenia require lifelong treatment.

How does schizophrenia start?
The exact causes of schizophrenia are unknown. Research suggests a combination of physical, genetic, psychological, and, environmental factors can make a person more likely to develop the condition. However, a stressful or emotional life event might trigger a psychotic episode.
How to detect the condition
If someone is experiencing one or more of the following symptoms most of the time for a month, there is a likelihood of schizophrenia:
Delusion
Hallucination
Hearing voices
Flattering of emotion (emotional numbness or lack of expressions).
