At least 400 school pupils have received free learning materials from the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement in Northwest, Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai.
The pupils of Rimi City Primary School, Yakasai Quarters, Kano received school uniforms, teaching materials and books.
Yakasai called on individuals and corporate organisations to contribute to developing education at the community level.
He lamented the statistics of 10 million out-of-school children in the North, saying that all hands must be on deck to address the situation.
“We are here in this primary school today to flag off the distribution of school uniforms, teaching materials and exercise books for the pupils because child education is key to a better future,” he said.
He said under his office as the SSA Community Engagement, “we see how worried the president is about the education of the younger generation. As you can see, we have given these 400 pupils complete uniforms and two exercise books each, one for Mathematics and one for English.”
