The rising cost of living is a significant issue affecting many households, particularly in Nigeria. This phenomenon is primarily driven by inflation, wage stagnation, and the increasing costs of essential goods and services.
The removal of fuel subsidies has significantly raised the cost of almost everything in the country to an extent that even commodities that are not dependent on fuel have also been hiked.
The government, despite offering palliatives, has not been able to address the situation. This has now called for a more disciplined approach to expenditure and also arrangement of needs and wants. It now beckons on to ensure that the citizens get value for what they pay for. We can only hope things improve soonest.
