Once upon a time, a Monkey and a Crocodile were friends. The Monkey lived on a Jamu tree on the riverbank where the Crocodile lived. The Monkey used to feed on the Jamuns and share them with Crocodile.
One day, the Crocodile took some fruits home for his wife, and the wife tasted the fruits and loved them. She asked her husband where he got fruits from. The Crocodile told her about his friend, Monkey, and the wife expressed her desire to eat the Monkey’s heart. The Crocodile refused but she continued to persuade her husband and finally, he gave in. The next day, he lied to the Monkey that his wife had invited him for dinner, and he gladly accepted the invitation. He jumped on the Crocodile’s back.
Not until when they got to the middle of the river that the Monkey noticed his friend looked lost and the Crocodile could no longer hide anything. He said his wife wanted to eat Monkey’s heart, and he didn’t want to cheat on his friend, but he was left with no option. The Monkey was shocked, and he said, “Why did you not tell me earlier? I left my heart on the tree; let’s get it.” The Monkey quickly jumped off the Crocodile’s back and climbed the tree and shouted to his friend that, “You are a fool. How can someone live without a heart? You don’t deserve to be my friend, get lost.” The Crocodile was sad to lose his good friend forever.
From this, it is moral to note that foolishness can make one take a wrong decision.
