This week, we explored HAIKU POETRY. Haiku is a very short form of Japanese poetry. It’s known for its simplicity and its focus on nature. A traditional haiku has three lines (The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and third line has 5 syllables). It aims to create a vivid image in the reader’s mind. Haiku often evokes a sense of peace, wonder, or reflection and it tries to capture a fleeting moment or a sudden insight. Think of it like a tiny snapshot in words, capturing a moment in time.

George Weah is one of the greatest footballers in Africa and the world. He is the first African footballer to win the Ballon d’Or. Also, he is the first footballer to become a president of a country. He became a president of Liberia in January, 2018.

However, he said that “Even if the richest man in the world, Elon Musk comes to him and offers more than $ 1 billion for my Ballon d’Or, I’ll tell him No! I’ve told my children to never sell my Ballon d’Or even if they go broke.”

Some things are worth more than silver and gold and my Ballon d’Or is one of those things, not just for me but for Africa. I worked hard for my Ballon d’Or and I want generations upon generations to see it.  He said that he owes it as a responsibility to guard his Ballon d’Or with jealousy because he is the only African football legend to ever win a Ballon d’ Or. He said that “A good name and legacy is worth more than silver and gold.
