The Catering Craft and Food/Nutrition students of Lead British International School, visited Wells Bake House, Asokoro, on an excursion on Thursday.
We departed the school at 9:30 am and arrived at Wells Bake House at 10:00 am. We were welcomed by the staff and taken to the kitchen where we were introduced to the head, Chef Brix, and his assistant, Chef John.
We were shown some high-quality equipment used in the kitchen, and thereafter, we began a baking session. We were taught how to make cupcakes, meat pies, sponge cakes, and cookies. The cupcakes came out soft and fluffy, while the meat pies were delicious and savory. The cookies came out warm and crunchy, and the sponge cakes were delicate and fluffy. The staff were very welcoming and kind, as they explained each step in detail.
The trip was very enjoyable and educative, we learnt how to make various dishes and use different types of equipment. If given the opportunity, we would love to visit the Wells Bake House again.
