As we begin a new year, my fellow students, it is time to reflect on our past experiences and make a plan for success. Whether one is in the Junior Secondary School or the Senior Secondary School, the University or the Polytechnic, having a solid plan is key to achieving one’s goals. Whether one intends to improve one’s grades or simply stay organized, planning is important.
Planning is like having a roadmap to success. It helps you to reduce stress and anxiety, improve your time management skills, increase your productivity, achieve your goals, and feel more in control and motivated.
Tips for planning your year
Set SMART Goals: make sure your goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound.
Use a Planner or Calendar: write down all your tasks, deadlines and assignments in a place.
Break down large goals: divide those large goals into smaller manageable tasks.
Prioritize tasks: focus on the most important tasks first. There is time for everything.
Review your plan and adjust: regularly review your progress and adjust your plan as needed. It is like checking your cell-phone battery level and charging it when necessary.
In conclusion, planning can, and has always been a game changer for me and I am sure it can be for you too! By planning, you will be well on your way to achieving your goals. Remember, planning is key to achieving your goals.
