The need to invest in the youths of any society can never be overemphasized. With the current trend of youth restiveness and global upsurge in youth mental health problems, there is an urgent need to build a system that will enable the youths realize their life aspirations. There are policies that should promote the actualization of that. One of such policies is the National Youth Employment Action Plan.
Nigerian Youth Employment Action Plan was developed by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (FMYSD) as a built-in strategy to respond effectively to the youth employment challenge in Nigeria. The major objectives of the plan are to address fragmentation of youth initiatives that prevent assessment of impact, and to provide Nigeria youth with investment inputs required to build successful businesses that can become sustainable employers of labor and contributors to Nigeria’s development. We need to strengthen this ministry and also work assiduously to encourage the youths to key into the action plan. This way we can move forward.
